The system is messed up--that's for sure. I feel for those in the auto industry but I'm against bailing them out.

That has echoes of how the British/Canadian and Americans destroyed the buffalo as a means of breaking the autonomy of Indians, forcing them to cede their land and agree to adopt a sedentary western agriculture model (albeit without arable land or freedom to make their own decisions of what crops to raise). Introduce cattle and pigs into enclosed lands where once buffalo travelled freely. Utter cultural genocide via modernization.
