Someone has to have done that by now. That's so trashy good that it has to have spawned multiple locations.

Two police officers from the nearby city of Everett were convicted of second-degree murder today in a case stemming from a brawl in which a civilian was beaten to death and six others were injured.

Delivering the verdict after 39 hours of deliberation, the jury also found another police officer guilty of manslaughter in connection with the fight but found two other officers not guilty.

The two officers from Everett convicted of second-degree murder, John McLeod and Richard Aiello, face a mandatory sentence of life imprisonnment, with parole possible after 15 years. The officer convicted of manslaughter, John Macauda, also from Everett, faces a possible sentence of up to 20 years.

The jury found William McClusky, an officer from Everett, and Michael Nadworny, an officer from the neighboring town of Chelsea, not guilty. 33 Witnesses Testified

The complex case, in which 33 witnesses appeared in 19 days of testimony, marked the first time in 30 years that police officers had been charged with murder while on duty in Massachusetts.

The incident began with a fight between Mr. McLeod and a patron in a bar. Mr. McLeod was off duty at the time, but he asserted in court that he had been badly beaten by other customers and had then called his police station for help.

Vincent J. Bordonaro of Everett, who was 54 years old, died of head injuries July 30, a week after the brawl at King Arthur's Motel and Lounge in Chelsea. Attempted Arrests Asserted

The officers maintained that they were trying to arrest civilians who had beaten Officer McLeod in the earlier barroom fight. The prosecution had charged that three of the officers from Everett, assisted by the policeman from Chelsea, Mr. Nadworny, broke into a second-floor room of the motel and attacked 12 people who had barricaded the door with furniture when they saw police cars outside.

Because of extensive pretrial publicity, the case was tried in Middlesex County Superior Court, in Cambridge, although the incident occurred in Suffolk County.

Mr. Bordonaro's widow, Rose, and several victims of the beatings at the motel had waited outside the courtroom on a bench for the verdict for much of the past six days. Victim Is 'Very Disappointed'

After the jury of seven men and five women read out their verdicts, one of the beating victims, Alfred Mattuchio, said outside the courtroom, ''I'm very disappointed in the results.''

''I don't think there was anything that happened that night that could justify the assaults,'' asserted Mr. Mattuchio, who got into the original fight in the bar with Officer McLeod.

After the verdicts were read, Frank McGee, the lawyer for Mr. McLeod, expressed concern for his client's safety if he is sent to prison. ''It could be the equivalent of a death sentence,'' Mr. McGee said, for any police officer to be put in prison in Massachusetts.

But Joe Ballero, an attorney for Mr. Mattuchio, said there was also concern in Everett and Chelsea that the police may try to seek revenge against the people who testified against them. Testimony Often Conflicted

Witnesses at the four-week trial often gave conflicting testimony about the brawl, in which several civilians and police officers were injured. Officers McLeod, Aiello and Macauda took the stand in their own defense.

Some time after 4 A.M., police officers from Everett and Chelsea battered down the door to Room 209, using a tire iron, an ax handle and riot sticks. Officer McClusky shot at the door twice. One bullet went into the room but did not hit anyone.

Officers Aiello and Macauda testified that when they got into the room, they were attacked by several larger men swinging baseball bats and pieces of furniture. Civilians 'in a Panic'

The prosecutor, Assistant District Attorney Daniel C. Mullane, told the jury in closing arguments that the civilians were not resisting arrest but were ''in a panic to resist being killed'' by police officers who they presumed were avenging the attack on Officer McLeod.

Defense lawyers conceded that the officers may have made poor judgments ''in the heat of battle'' but that they had no criminal intent. Those who took the stand denied hitting Mr. Bordonaro.

Through the trial the defense focused its cross-examination on apparent discrepancies between witnesses' testimony at the trial and their statements to a grand jury last year. In closing arguments, lawyers for the officers emphasized that events had occurred so quickly in the crowded 12-foot-square room that witnesses' identifications were unreliable. Witnesses Tell of Beating

Prosecution witnesses said they saw Officers Macauda, Aiello and McLeod strike Mr. Bordonaro with objects that included a tire iron and a baseball bat.

The prosecution did not contend that Officer McClusky hit Mr. Bordonaro but charged him with a ''joint venture,'' saying he had helped the dazed Officer McLeod into the room after the civilians had been subdued.

Witnesses said Officer McLeod hit several defenseless civilians on the head, repeating: ''My name is John McLeod. Don't you forget it.'' Officer McLeod testified that he had been so badly beaten earlier that he did not remember the brawl.

No arrests were made that morning. The defense contended that the officers from Everett thought their colleagues from Chelsea would take the civilians into custody.

Several civilians will stand trial later on charges of assault and battery. Two Chelsea police officers will be tried on charges of filing false reports to cover up their presence at the motel during the brawl.

So if I'm getting this an off duty cop got his ass kicked in a bar fight so he called his cop buddies to beatup and arrest them.

It's a story of legend around here. Hell, the King Arthur is a place of legend. It was in the industrial area where the freighters bring produce and home heating oil in for the city. The land is reclaimed marshland so the road is a moonscape. There was a trailer across the street that sold tacos and porno DVDs to the truck drivers. The King Arthur also had a small motel on the second floor for, um, travelers.
