Yeah, I knew I fucked that up...I meant Othello. It's been awhile.

When I received an e-mail this morning with the withdrawal of an important actor from OTHELLO, and when I saw that scheduling conflicts were still being compiled, I knew that this was the end.
There is no way our project of OTHELLO will be coming together by October 10, and under our production circumstances, this means it won’t come together at all.
Those of you who know me little will think I am an idiot; I wish I could bring witnesses to testify that I am not, at least not completely. What I certainly am is incredibly saddened that this is what came of OTHELLO; despite my love for this play, despite my genuine desire and joy to work with each of you (actor, designer or crew), despite many hundreds of hours I have spent preparing myself for the second half of the work on it, I have failed.
I have failed to build the structure to sustain the work over the summer, and evidently I have failed to build the momentum, inspiration and confidence among the cast that would have kept the work going from June to this week. In a way, I have only learned again what I knew a year ago when I swore I’d never try again.
Public announcements will be taken care of; I hope you all find something better to do with your freed-up time.

Besides, the implication is pretty clear that he's NOT WHITE. Drawing a distinction between non-caucasians was pretty much non-existent.
