Funny sketch comedy that's funny

Sweet action for kids 'n' cretins. Marjoram and capers.

It's weird, cos I'm alright with the central focus of a comedy series being an unlikable prick (David Brent, Basil Fawlty, Rab C Nesbitt), so long as they're compelling and interesting with it. Maybe it's a mainstream American thing that doesn't want to recognise the tragedy that makes those kind of characters so funny?

This is generally true. Arrested Development comes to mind as a show with a bunch of mostly awful people, but so otherwise inept that we don't hate them (which is pretty much the key to David Brent).
Endut! Hoch Hech!

I feel that, had he lived, John Lennon would have loved Donkey Kong.

Best written Brit-com ever. Did it see much action overseas? Is it repeated in NZ? You never hear our American friends mention it.
It is regularly repeated on UKTV Sky channel.

Gotta love Trigger.
So what does Marconi playing the mamba mean? "Marconi" is referring to the radio itself. It plays a deadly snake. The snake - the mamba - is slithering from the speakers. Ready to kill greedy corporations. Ready to free the world of all that is evil, and to leave behind only the youthful idealism encompassed by the tenets of rock and roll.

The fact that he was a shakesperian actor he gets that stupid thing down brilliantly.

How can you just sit around laughing when there are people out there with no KFC to eat. What would Joe Strummer think!

I remember watching that when it aired. Great stuff. Who would have thought it was the moment Shatner realized that he could reinvent himself in self-parody?
