Funny sketch comedy that's funny
Re: Funny sketch comedy that's funny
Friend of mine got to perform with Kevin recently. Kevin likes Chapel Hill/Carrboro, so he performs here pretty frequently.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

Intellectually (if that's the right word), yes, I go with Bruce. Kevin's appeal is being that awkward, wounded soul. I can't help but identify. Those two are clearly my favourites. And, as you say, none are unfunny, but the other three aren't as off kilter for my tastes.Wolter wrote:I think Kevin is the funniest kid, but the older I get, the more the intense weirdness of Bruce appeals to me.
I'd put it Bruce>Kevin>Dave>Scott>Mark
None of them are unfunny, mind you.

Scott's my favorite. Dunno why.
Mark's best work is Slings and Arrows I think.

When KitH premiered, they, of course, did a shit-ton of promo and interviews. I remember Scott explaining that he was the last to join and that there was initial reluctance. He said it was because they had a problem with him being gay; they replied, No, we just didn't think you were very funny.eumaas wrote:Scott's my favorite. Dunno why.

He's an exceptional straight man (ironically, so to speak). And he plays an absolutely perfect dopey blue-collar Canadian. For example:

Scott's two greatest moments are Manny Coon and "Just got feet. Don't got shoes."

Manny Coon is pure joy.
edit: I've never watched it, but Bruce is in a sitcom he created called Young Drunk Punk.

Somehow their official twitter feed started following me, probably because I mentioned Bruce. I don't think non-canadians have access, but I never bothered to test that theory.Dr. Medulla wrote:Manny Coon is pure joy.

Tom Kenny's Brooklyn Lincoln is the definitive take on the man. I have, on occasion, responded to people by saying, "Lunacy!" and it's always while trying to imitate Kenny's Lincoln.
