I remember Scandal being on that somewhat depressing Bands Reunited program. I believe they were on of the bands that did reunite. The nadir of that program was when they tried to reunite The Smiths by attempting to corner Morrissey before a concert. I read an interview with the producers afterwards and they at least claimed (and it might have been BS) that they actually had hopes of pulling it off. Really?

Started watching the series From the Earth to the Moon this morning—somehow I'd never watched it before—and in the first episode the characters keep pronouncing Gemini jem-in-ee. I was getting irritated and blaming dumb-ass Texans—the Houston flight centre—but then looked it up and found out that both the long i and e pronunciations are correct.

And you know some NASA egghead with a slide rule calculated that pronouncing it "ee" would save one picohertz of radio bandwidth, which was precisely the amount needed to save the crew in the event both the main and auxiliary batteries failed.
Also: the Gus Grissom Memorial Museum has a 'replica' corned beef sandwich cast in acrylic celebrating the time on Gemini 3 he and John Young shared a corned beef sandwich smuggled in Young's space suit from a roadside deli shack an hour before liftoff. Which then prompted both of them upon return to get investigated by Congress for wasting a million dollars in specially prepared space food, and reprimanded by NASA for getting rye crumbs all stuck in the spacecraft controls during zero-G.
Young later recalled, in his autobiography, that the sandwich was still pretty good in spite of it all.
