I've been in Paris for 36 hours and have already had to thwart a pick pocket attempt.
My daughter went there in high school and said pick pocketers/purse and backpack snatchers were rampant.
In my mental picture, the pickpocket is dressed as a mime. I mean, why wouldn't he be?

A worthwhile phrase to know: foutre le camp (fuck off).
I felt hands on my ass as the other guy was trying to distract me. I pushed me 44.7 lbs suit case into him and called him a fucking lowlife pervert. I was proud of myself.

The wine is good and my money is in my front pocket. Paris is pretty great otherwise.

That's 20 kilos, eh. And at your age, don't dismiss a stranger's grope so casually. One day you'll look back and think of what might have been and never will be.

Not according to a French classmate. (Google suggests that both, and other variations, are all the same.)

French classmate? Or Quebecois? :shifty:

Foutre is the infinitive form: to do, to stick

Fou is conjugated, specifically the second person (singular, familiar) imperative command.

One could also say: Foutez le camp! or Foutez-moi le camp!

You'd use these second person plural forms if you wanted to specify that you wanted more than one person to fuck off.

Fou-moi la paix! and Foutez-moi la paix! are also handy.

Yeah, well, like, that's just your opinion, man. (I had six years of immersion in junior high and high school, but it's confirmed over and over that barely anything was retained, other than how to tell people that the birds are in the library.)

The birds were always in the library at my school too especially in winter. That is where I got to put my hand up a girls jumper for the first time and we weren't even in the biology section.

Nice. I got my backpack opened up (apparently they didn't have time to get into it) when I showed up there the second to last time I went. Great city otherwise.
