He won't be difficult to track down, just need to check out a few Chicago McDonald's branches when a McRib promotion is on ;)

What part of the US will you be visiting during your trip?

Checking out flights at the minute, I want a single to NY, Newark or Philly, you'd have thought it would be a lot cheaper than a return but oh no the robbing bastards want practically the same amount....Wankers
Me and the Mrs are thinking of doing a cruise, maybe Caribbean or East coast. Might have to wait til 2012 though.
Heston and Hoy finally meet …

Bastard finally arrived

Totally fucked up my travel plans, will have to make do with a week of serious drinking and about 20 minutes X-mas shopping in Scranton, my brother and his fruit loop wife in Florida will have to wait for another trip...

Madness booking flights at this time of the year, Heathrow to NY was a sillly price, managed to find a cheaper flight direct to Scrantons own little airport via Chicago of all places for £100 less

Leave hear at 10am tomorrow and should be propping up a bar in PA at around 7pm local time, perfect

Scranton sounds like good place to be going if you're gonna get the munchies.

You're getting a £100 subsidy for having to fly through O'Hare, I'm guessing. Unless you lucked out and are flying into Midway, the VASTLY less horrible airport here.

My experience with O'Hare is the Departure Monitors are all a sly joke. I've never left O'Hare even close to the stated departure time.

O'Hare is seriously one of the most frustrating, baffling, soul-searing places on earth.

I've only a 1hr 20 mins layover at O'Hare, hope the connection is delayed It'll save me doing a Usain Bolt between terminals...

Could have actuallyI got a cheaper flight Via Charlotte but the 5 hour layover put me off, priced up flights to Florida via PA before my plans went tits up......Could have got 4 internal flights and the return to the UK for what I've just paid, there's some very, very good deals about if your plans are flexible..

My girlfriend had to stay overnight at O'Hare once because of delayed flights causing a missed connection. I have always flown through Midway and never through O'Hare (I fly Southwest whenever possible, and Midway's a hub of theirs). I'm going to try and keep it that way. I have not heard a single positive thing about O'Hare.

Midway is alright if you can find an open spot at a bar. I think I've had that luck, oh, once. Way too many people and way too little liquor (or at least way too few seats to drink it in).

PH - have fun out in Scranton. I used to live in Williamsport, about 60 miles / 100 km west. For a relatively isolated area, I've lived in worse places than northeast PA. Good times to be had, and NYC and Philly are both a 2-3 hour drive away...
Purple Hayes wrote:Could have actuallyI got a cheaper flight Via Charlotte but the 5 hour layover put me off,
I would take a 5 hour layover in Charlotte over a 1 hour and change layover at O'Hare any day, were it a choice between those two things. At least Charlotte's honest.

Well I've made it to Scranton ok but my cuntin' suitcase hasn't, it made it to O'Hare fine, some bullshit about the plane being overloaded and it should arrive tomorrow, not a happy bunny, i'll have to go out and get some alcohol in me to cheer myself up.......O'Hare does indeed suck the big one

Blame Wolter.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
