BORING. I only book vacations to National Parks that are engulfed in flames so violent they're creating their own weather.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑30 Jul 2018, 9:38pmIve got news for you, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are wonderful.

The ocean wouldn’t burn. I did, however, dump those quarts of used motor oil out that were in my trunk.Rat Patrol wrote: ↑30 Jul 2018, 9:47pmBORING. No lie, one of Saskatoon's nicknames is the Paris of the Prairies. And I think it's supposed to be a compliment.

BREAKING
Apparently now--at least for the next few hours until they change their minds again--this is going to be a beach vacation. Avila Beach in San Luis Obispo, halfway between SF and LA, has sand which may or may not be on-fire on that moment...but, damnit, that's a chance we're willing to take. I'll have to throw some spare change at Kaleb when we pull into the I-5 rest stop outside of Bakersfield.

I am headed to Paris in November. It will be my third trip there. If you don't like it you must be doing it wrong.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑30 Jul 2018, 11:12pmNo lie, one of Saskatoon's nicknames is the Paris of the Prairies. And I think it's supposed to be a compliment.

You could be in friggin Hawaii and it would still beat Ratty's hellscape because you are going to a family reunion.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑30 Jul 2018, 5:53pmI can beat Ratty's hellscape: I'm in Saskatchewan until next Monday for a family reunion.

Bring a sweatshirt. Coastal central California is cold as shit, especially during the summer.Rat Patrol wrote: ↑31 Jul 2018, 8:32amBREAKING

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Well, that'll finally fix my balls from sticking to thigh for a full month because of all this Florida-import heat/humidity. I forgot what fragile flowers you temperate fog dwellers out West are.matedog wrote: ↑31 Jul 2018, 1:30pmBring a sweatshirt. I was just looking at maps of Saskatchewan and Saskatoon and I have some questions.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑30 Jul 2018, 11:12pmNo lie, one of Saskatoon's nicknames is the Paris of the Prairies. And I think it's supposed to be a compliment.
1) Why do you allow these other provinces to own your water? Reindeer Lake really ought to belong to you, Saskatchewan!
2) I see some bridges and a river but Paris is much more than that. Who told you this?
