I thought I was looking at a cast for The Cherry Orchard or something.
Never surpassed by the Gumby performance.
The only reason I know what the hell The Cherry Orchard is.

Also: there are very few phrases as funny as "Gumby Theatre."
MST3K did a really good job on a Gumby short film. It's an extra on one of their box sets.

ETA: It's called Robot Rumpus.
Different Gumby, chief.
As a strident Monty Python and MST3K fan, I know.

The Boss chose this off the Netflix machine. In essence, Harry Potter Woman goes to work for super evil Facebook/Google, run by Uncle Ned, and gets sucked up in its social media-y evilness. It's like if Charlie Brooker turned Black Mirror over to a bunch of drunk chimps. You can practically see everyone in the cast thinking about the paycheque and the better movie that they're signed up to do next.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri (2017) A grieving mother (Francis Mcdormand) rents three billboards to advertise the Police have not yet found her daughter's
killer(s). This sets off some events that keeps her at odds with the town and the police force. This is in my top 5 films of the year. Theres a bunch of funny moments (the diologue between characters)
as well as some revenge violence. Whats interesting is how the alliances between all the characters seem to shift as film progresses.

Videodrome (1983) James Woods is Max Renn, a sleazy cable TV channel executive looking for soft-core porn and the like to fill up his programming schedule when he stumbles upon “Videodrome”, a no-frills S&M/Torture show with no plot. Turns out the show causes the viewer to hallucinate heavily, and soon enough Renn finds himself a pawn in a conspiracy plot, and can’t tell fantasy from reality. Blondie’s Debbie Harry is a radio psychologist he’s sleeping with, who also falls under the spell of Videodrome. She shows a boob. I suppose David Cronenberg is the father of body horror, and this is about as body horror as you can get. “Long live the new flesh.”

Subspecies III: Bloodlust (1994) Michelle is falling deeper and deeper in to full vampirism, and despite her hate for Radu it appears there’s no turning back now. She must vow loyalty to him in exchange for her sister’s safety. This was shot together with part 2, so all the primary characters return, but this seemed a step down form the second entry entertainment-wise. It had its moments, though, and there were some very good gruesome FX. Some nudity.

The Loreley’s Grasp (1973) Young women around town are being torn to shreds and having their hearts ripped out by what is thought to be wild animal. The local college for hot chicks hires a Don Juan with a shotgun to protect them, while all the students prance about in bikinis. The protector ends up meeting, and falling for the Loreley (pronounced LORE-a-LIE), who is a beautiful woman by day (Helga Line) and a scaly sea creature by night. The cheap rubber suit monster looks straight from the Outer Limits, but if you can get over that, this is highly entertaining, with many beautiful women, nudity, squirting blood, and beating hearts from Amando de Ossorio, creator of the Blind Dead films.

Amityville: The Awakening (2017) Jennifer Jason Leigh moves her family into the infamous murder house, unbeknownst to the children. The smokin’ hot teenage daughter (Bella Thorne) was indirectly responsible for her twin brother’s (Jerome from Gotham) paralysis, and over a short period of time he starts to display signs of improvement, but is there a sinister force behind it? Of course there fucking is, this is Amityville! This PG13 gimmick isn’t quite as bad as I was lead to believe, but still not good enough to watch twice. Director Franck Khalfoun also did the 2012 Maniac remake.

Dudes (1987) Penelope Spheeris directs this vigilante-comedy-punk-western where Jon Cryer, Daniel Roebuck, and Flea drive from New York to California. During a pit stop in a Utah desert, some rednecks, led by FEAR’s Lee Ving, murders one of them. The remaining two seek revenge and learn about themselves on the way. Catherine Mary Stewart (Night of the Comet) and an Elvis Impersonator lend a hand along the way. At one point, one of the guys has a dream then wakes up with the spirit of a Native American. The Vandals play during the opening credits. Not graphically violent, and also not funny.

Evil Heritage aka Satan’s Slave (1976) A young woman survives a car wreck on the way to her uncle’s mansion, her parents don’t. Uncle is a devil worshipper, cousin murders women regularly, and she has terrifying dreams and visions. A bit slow in the middle, but this one is loaded with gore and more nude scenes than I can remember. Hammer veteran Michael Gough is the uncle, and pretty Candace Glendenning (Horror of Snape Island, Flesh & Blood Show) is the damsel in distress. Brit director Norman J Warren has a long genre resume, including Inseminoid and Bloody New Year.

Piranha (1978) Heather Menzies (Ssssss) is a private investigator looking for two missing teens. She and the mountain drunkard Bradford Dilman (Bug) end up at a military testing facility where they unknowingly empty a pool of genetically altered piranha into a Texas river, where they eventually prey on a kids summer camp, and the grand opening of a family resort. Joe Dante’s 2nd feature film for Roger Corman, he was just getting started. Loaded with familiar genre faces, Kevin McCarthy, Keenan Wynn, Dick Miller, Barbara Steele, Paul Bartel, and Belinda Balaski. A personal alltime fave.

Trip with Teacher (1975) A bus with four hot “teenagers” and their teacher breaks down in the desert, and they are raped and tormented by some bikers. Some nudity, some violence, Zalman King (Blue Sunshine) is no David Hess, but he does his best. Entertaining in a bad-movie way, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The Ghost Story of Yotsuya (1959) A samurai secretly kills the father of the women he wishes to marry, and the two live in poverty while “searching” for the killer. Like OJ, haha. He ends up killing his wife when he gets an opportunity to marry in to money. She returns to haunt him. The last 20 minutes or so are very spooky, the ghost make-up was great, and some really effective shots of her sticking to the ceiling.

Better Watch Out (2016) A 13 year old has plans to put some moves on the babysitter when a home invasion starts to play out, but things take an unexpected turn. Set at Christmastime, but I suppose this story would have played the same in March or August. The two kids from Shamalan’s The Visit are reunited.

Red Christmas (2016) An abortion that didn’t take (like Charlie in Always Sunny!) returns 20 years later to cause havoc for an Australian family on Christmas. It started out as if it was going to be very political, but not really. The FX were cheap but the movie ended up being better than I thought it would. Dee Wallace stars and produces.

Private Parts (1972) Teenage runaway Cheryl finds herself staying at the Los Angeles skid row hotel of her Aunt Martha and meets a colorful cast of drunks and perverts who stay there. Her former roommates who come looking for her meet gruesome deaths, and we soon find out that this was the last known whereabouts of an aspiring young model named Alice. A reclusive young photographer named George likes to peep, and he also likes to do very strange things with blow-up dolls! Nudity and violence all around in director Paul Bartel’s unsung sleaze gem, this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Creature with the Atom Brian (1955) An exiled mobster returns with a german scientist to get revenge on those who wronged him with reanimated corpses that they control via remote, and can even speak and see through them. A detective that’s too clever for his own good finds himself on the danger list as well. Screenplay and story by Curt Siodmak (the Wolfman). Only 69 minutes long.

All Through the House (2015) A masked Santa with some hedge clippers roams around a neighborhood with a lot of young homeowners having sex on Christmas Eve and kills them, chopping off a lot of dicks on the way. A young woman and her 2 friends help an old neighbor decorate, but really spend most of the time snooping in closets. They’re in danger too. This movie was a cheap, boring piece of shit, not recommended.

Silent Night, Bloody Night (1972) An heir returns to a small town on Christmas Eve to sell his Grandfather’s house, which had been empty for decades. The town officials are against it, but they’re dead soon enough after a run in with a mysterious stranger at the house. Through flashback we find the house has a history of violent Christmases. Mary Woronov is the mayor’s daughter. Kind of a cool ending, though if you think it too hard I’m not sure how plausible it is. Writer/Director Ted Gurshuny doesn’t have too many credits, but he wrote and directed 5 or 6 Tales From the Darkside episodes.

Viral (2016) Two teenage girls in NoCal are stuck in their house without parents during a quarantine after a deadly worm-flu virus breaks out. Nothing too special, but I did like both girls, one of the was the daughter from The Mick, kinda my fave show at the moment.

True enough, but everyone knows the best Cronenberg film is Dead Ringers.

Watched There's Something About Mary last night and it is still as funny as fuck. I'm not usually one for Yank comedies but this one is just ace.

Made me laugh when I watched it last, which would have been in the last five years. A real nice feeling of a film.

I love that movie heaps and heaps. It has a genuine narrative and cringe comedy is rarely better.
