I noticed some too.

The flight they used was Sydney to LA, a possible homage to Lost.
I think Scorsese would do a homage to Godard or Powell before Lost.
Probably right about Scorsese, but Inception was directed by Christopher Nolan.

I've been hearing really good buzz about it, I think you're in for a treat (I should hopefully be watching it this weekend/next week).

I saw Mad Dog Morgan lately. Good flick. Also saw Ichi (2008). I give it three out of five stars. The lead actress is great, but much of the film wasn't good. The villain was a Japanese Quentin Tarantino. Seriously, dude looks just like him.

Is that the one where the guy's jaw opens up or whatever? I hated that movie.

Guy's jaw opens up?
Must be something else. I'll have to look it up.

Faux Addendum: I was thinking of Ichi the Killer, and my timeline was way off because it was made in 2001. Anyways, I hated that movie.

I thought it was going to be cool and crazy from the trailer, but it was boring. Miike's One Missed Call was lame too. Audition is great, though.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, Audition was kick ass. Especially the end. J-Horror got dull for me, after some initial excitement.
