Heart attack snow! It's warm out, so it's wet and heavy, and still coming down (all day, as I understand it). I did a round of shoveling already, and it was enough to persuade me that I don't need to row today, given that I'll be out there again today and presumably tomorrow. I assume revbob and Kimmelweck are in the same situation.
It's surprisingly warm and green here. We've got a bunch of snow coming Monday though, and continuing through much of next week. The wet and heavy stuff sucks for sure.
Huh. Weather in Ottawa normally matches up with upstate NY and Vermont.
Yeah we’re just a couple days behind but it's coming. Luckily I maintain snowblower preparedness like the father in A Christmas Story does for fuses and furnace repairs.

Yeah I aint touching it today still feeling some ill effects from Thursday night. I was tearing up carpet earlier and I'm spent. Might send the kid out tomorrow to clear the snow plus it will be warmer tomorrow I'll see how much melts.

I haven't had to go out for a second round, save for clearing the driveway approach when a plough came thru. Maybe more will accumulate overnight, but it seems about done. And it's slightly above freezing, so there's a minor melt happening already.

-24 here yesterday and the Boss and I took a walk to campus around a half hour away. It was tolerable except for when the wind kicked up. Still, I'm not that upset that the pandemic means I'm teaching from home.

28F here. Just took a drive to the store and it was pretty nice actually. Only 5mph wind, which helps. What surprises me so far this year is the lack of snow. For weeks, the extended forecast has called for snow several days away, but it never really materializes. Just an occasional quarter-inch dusting that is gone as soon as the sun comes out. Lawns are green here, and the only real snowfall has been Christmas Eve when we had about 5 inches. We average about 95 inches a year, so we’ll probably get slammed in February.

I hate anyone riding a unicycle with a passion.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

An odd statement, but a correct one.

That's right. I think it's learning something so obnoxiously "unique" and impractical that bothers me.

My fondest wish is that Ratty is living in Idaho, making Big Foot tracks, and posting really long messages on sasquatch boards.
