Sweet action for kids 'n' cretins. Marjoram and capers.

I'm going to roast a chicken tonight.
Nice, what's your recipe/method?
Dutch oven over potatoes and onions. I use butter and sage, thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper as a rub. I stuff it with wine soaked stale bread with the same seasoning. Then I roast it at 425 for an hour and a half.
I need to get a dutch oven.

Wine soaked stale bread huh. How much space is in the cavity?
Is a Dutch oven a slow cooker?

No it's what BBE had the chicken in. Basically you can cook on the stove top or in the oven with it.

Sounds delicious can we have an after photo?
Sure thing but you'll have to wait a bit. I assume you Kiwis are locked in your homes as well?
Sure are, very strict rules here not allowed to drive or go out on the water.
We can go to a market. Our grocer and butcher deliver to our flat.

Here’s the bird...

Do you know what Dutch oven is slang for?
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

It was a lovely dinner. I thought we’d get two meals from it. We might. I have a small bowl of chicken and about of 1/3 the potatoes as leftovers. It smelled great! I put it in the oven and then we walked empty streets for an hour plus. It was a lovely odor to return to.

A good Dutch Oven will set you back. I got mine for like $200 about 15 years ago. Once you buy it you’re set for life in the Dutch Oven department.

Spend the money. You just piss it away elsewhere. I love cooking and good equipment makes all the difference. I have my grandmother’s 90 year old cast iron and the Dutch Oven I bought myself. 90% of our meals are cooked in one of them.

Fun (not really) fact, when making sausages there's always about 2lbs of sausage meat left in the filler that can't get through to make a sausage and criminally, it's always thrown in the bin despite it being fine. Different rules tonight, I've taken a couple of different flavours and making a sandwich as we speak with pork, leek and chilli sausage meat.
