Wine soaked stale bread huh. How much space is in the cavity?

No it's what BBE had the chicken in. Basically you can cook on the stove top or in the oven with it.101Walterton wrote: ↑31 Mar 2020, 5:40pmIs a Dutch oven a slow cooker?revbob wrote: ↑31 Mar 2020, 5:38pmI need to get a dutch oven.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑31 Mar 2020, 4:21pmDutch oven over potatoes and onions. There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

It was a lovely dinner. I thought we’d get two meals from it. We might. I have a small bowl of chicken and about of 1/3 the potatoes as leftovers. It smelled great! I put it in the oven and then we walked empty streets for an hour plus. It was a lovely odor to return to.

A good Dutch Oven will set you back. I got mine for like $200 about 15 years ago. Once you buy it you’re set for life in the Dutch Oven department.

Spend the money. You just piss it away elsewhere. I love cooking and good equipment makes all the difference. I have my grandmother’s 90 year old cast iron and the Dutch Oven I bought myself. 90% of our meals are cooked in one of them.revbob wrote: ↑01 Apr 2020, 7:35amDamn and I was wavering on $60BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑31 Mar 2020, 11:08pmA good Dutch Oven will set you back. I thought those were crinkle cut french fries.

Fun (not really) fact, when making sausages there's always about 2lbs of sausage meat left in the filler that can't get through to make a sausage and criminally, it's always thrown in the bin despite it being fine. Different rules tonight, I've taken a couple of different flavours and making a sandwich as we speak with pork, leek and chilli sausage meat.
