Can't say I'm convinced though that's my egg allergy talking. Strange one, fine with eggs in recipes but boiled/fried/poached or whatever my head swells up and I'm hurling. Mind you that was when I was a baby, I've probably grown out of it now but their farty whiff makes me never want to try them. I can only do pork pies cold. AND NO JELLY. That stuff is rank.

The bit you found odd from that story was Heston liking warm scotch egg not that his microwave needed a clean so he replaced itBitterTom wrote: ↑22 Jul 2019, 3:05pmYou put a scotch egg in the microwave?Heston wrote: ↑22 Jul 2019, 2:50pmA scotch egg blew up in my microwave the other day so I just threw it out. Got a nearly new one for free from the recycling bloke at work.BitterTom wrote: ↑22 Jul 2019, 2:46pmPut it on in the morning, ready for tea, this slow cooker is fantastic.
It's a twat to clean though.

Hard, no doubt about it. In fact runny yolk in a Scotch egg disgusts me.101Walterton wrote: ↑22 Jul 2019, 5:14pmI have a scotch egg question:

Re: What Are you Eating Right Now?
Ii was in an article in Sunday paper this week talking about best pub snacks and described it as having a runny yolk? I don’t think if I have ever seen a scotch egg with a runny yolk let alone eat one. They have usually sat in a chiller display for 3 or 4 days!!Heston wrote: ↑22 Jul 2019, 5:15pmHard, no doubt about it. The best pub snack is always the pork scratching. Just mind those hairs though.101Walterton wrote: ↑22 Jul 2019, 5:19pmIi was in an article in Sunday paper this week talking about best pub snacks and described it as having a runny yolk? Where I lived growing up there were plenty of pig farms and one used to make their own and supply local pubs. They came in clear plastic bags no labelling. Plenty of hairs but well worth it

I’ve got to back this conversation up and say neither runny or hard yolk. I like it to be gelatinous.101Walterton wrote: ↑22 Jul 2019, 6:47pmI told mine it was preserved pig skin, she didn’t believe me.BitterTom wrote: ↑22 Jul 2019, 5:31pmI'm stealing this one.Heston wrote: ↑22 Jul 2019, 5:29pmI used to tell my daughter that pork Scratchings were pig's toenails so she wouldn't ask me for any.BitterTom wrote: ↑22 Jul 2019, 5:21pmThe best pub snack is always the pork scratching.
