However it appears that life on any planet has a limited cycle and is never endless and the distance between the planets / galaxies / universe that can support life are so far apart that there is insufficient time for evidence of life to pass from one existence to another.

We may be alone afterall.

I believe in either a multiverse which allows for change for intelligent life only (agency) or in the eternal return which is evident in the lack of agency.

That's where I'm at. I'm inclined to think that there is other life out there—sentient, developing—but physical laws and the unfathomable distances involved makes the whole thing a moot point.

Yep, there most likely is life somewhere and possibly in another Universe but we will be long gone before any evidence of our existence (I.e. Light) reaches them or vice versa.

What you guys, I think, are describing is alienation in the anthropological sense. I propose that evidence doesn't exist for a universal such as this because we can't know what life is without experiencing it (see Nagel).

What we dream of when asking for life on other planets is the next evolution of apes, as apes. There could be life on the moon that doesn't stand out, and life on other green worlds rich in water that don't quite exist the way we do.

Right. While finding plant life on another planet would be satisfying on some level, or of one with fish and birds (roughly speaking), but dreams of life on other worlds rests on the idea of finding a species that we might meaningfully communicate with.

I was referring to the fact that 'life' on any planet only has a limited lifespan (as does the planet) thereby making it impossible to 'find' let alone communicate with any other form of life.
I presume whatever 'life' is out there has formed because of the uniqueness of the planet it evolved on, as we did. No reason to believe they will be ape / human like life form.

Look, do you want to compromise the economic growth rate or pay more at the pump? Because that's what it'll cost to keep the earth habitable, you commie.
