I haven't watched it yet. Not enough pigfucking.

Oh, so it was written by Mark Gatiss?

A couple o episodes behind. The big news is that Pex Lives is now part of Phil's hivemind of Doctor Who fandom, Eruditorum Press. So, ya know, go getcha some o' dat.

Episode 24: The Terror of the Zygons, or, You can’t rule a world in hiding.

Kevin and James spend the first half of this month’s episode talking about American fascist comic creator, Frank Miller, and the second half considering the classic Caledonian serial, Terror of the Zygons.

We’re Pex Lives and we do this.

A Season of Orson Welles

Gene and James discuss the original film work of Orson Welles in this, the year of his centenary.

Pex Lives and Eruditorum Press Presents: The Peter Harness Interview

Legendary blogger Phil Sandifer, of http://www.philsandifer.com, talks to Peter Harness, the writer of series eight’s Kill the Moon, about that episode and adapting Susanna Clarke’s Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell for the BBC.

Episode 25: Carnival of Monsters/Nightmare of Eden

Jane is back on Pex Lives! We kick things off with a chat about The Magician’s Apprentice, the just-aired Peter Capaldi opener (which James seems to like more than anyone) then head into a combined fairground twister on Carnival of Monsters and Nightmare of Eden.

Pex Lives is now proud to be a part of Eruditorum Press.

Enjoy!

I have no idea how to think or feel about what I just watched.

Ditto. I'm not really sure what I watched. Did anything change? Was there a point to the story?

I enjoyed it while it was occurring but I'm not sure what there is to walk away with from it. Other than maybe trying to reestablish Davros as the villain for the season maybe? Otherwise this seems like sort of a wasteful way to employ him.

I'm just glad we're going to have the continued joy that is Michelle Gomez in our lives.

James, the final third of the latest Pex Lives seems to have your audio occasionally overlapping to a fairly significant degree. Don't know if that was an artifact of my download but figured I'd give you a heads up.

Otherwise, really enjoyed the episode, and Jane potentially gets my vote for best 'friend of the podcast.' I really like the threads that she teases out of the episodes, and now I kind of want to watch the two serials you watched.

Thanks, mate. Can I be cheeky and ask what time it seems to start from? I was a little harried getting this one up cos I actually had a schedule to keep to for a change with Phil's blog needing a post.

It's definitely about halfway in to the final third, if not a little further in. There are only a few times where it's really notable and most of those are probably in the last half hour of the podcast.

To Bodd's other point, Jane is great. I think she's a little piqued I don't speak a lot when she's on, but that's cos she's so worth listening to.

That's why it's always a good idea to have a loud, belligerent American to co-host.
