Did a bit of that in Rose too with the guy and his shed o' Doctor.laxman wrote:They were just taking the mick out of obsessive fans on Love & Monsters, weren't they? Peter Kay was definitely hamming it up.

"Blink" was great. "Love and Monsters" worked well for an episode as well.
Surprisingly, some of my least favourite episodes involve the Daleks. It's become such a cop-out of an storyline.

I think "Dalek" is good, but I agree that they've been overused.ThousandStances wrote:"Blink" was great. "Love and Monsters" worked well for an episode as well.

I'll third this. "Dalek" was awesome but I've been kinda 50/50 on the Dalek episodes otherwise.eumaas wrote:I think "Dalek" is good, but I agree that they've been overused.ThousandStances wrote:"Blink" was great. "Love and Monsters" worked well for an episode as well.

Cybermen are still awesome though!

I think the new Cybermen are more effective. But Daleks are Daleks, so I can't complain too much.Flex wrote:I'll third this. Re: Dr. Who/Torchwood
He's fantastic. I actually thought the Eccleston was better to ease into the series (a little more of a casually accessible performance), but Tennant is absolutely brilliant in the role.eumaas wrote:How're you liking the Tenth Doctor, Flex?
The episodes have been pretty uniformly excellent too. A couple mediocre numbers but the only one that stands out as an episode I barely registered at all is "42."

I'm almost finished going back through the first season. It's been good seeing Eccleston since I got so used to Tenant.Flex wrote:He's fantastic. "Boom Town" is a better episode than I remember it being. Nice character moments.
I liked the design elements of 42, and the plot is classic Dr. Who.The episodes have been pretty uniformly excellent too. A couple mediocre numbers but the only one that stands out as an episode I barely registered at all is "42."

Re: Dr. Who/Torchwood
I actually first got into Dr. Who with series 2. Eccleston took a bit of getting used to, but he did a nice job. Series 1 had so many classic episodes as well. Tennant though is the quintessential Dr. Who, geekiness and all! (Although, I haven't seen much of the old series)

Holy shit, series 4 is intense.
Donna may just be my favorite companion to date, btw.

I liked Tate in that role, which was a surprise to me because I usually hate her.Flex wrote:Holy shit, series 4 is intense.

And shit, Flex, if you watch those intervening specials you'll be all caught up in time for the Christmas/New Years specials.
