I did not realize William Shatner was narrated Operation Bikini.

Regarding, actor connection to the material, it's weird - I guess - to expect it, but a lot of the franchise cast members over the years have been fairly vocal about the pride they have in being part of what's seen as a leading portrayal of progressivism and equality. Some of his cast members, I think, helped foster the notion that the actors stand by the message of the on-screen work they did. Too bad Shatner isn't one of them.

But, dude is an old white guy that even at his best was considered kind of a dick. Not too surprising that he sunk to this at the end of his life.

Is anyone genuinely surprised by Shatner's recent rant? The line between amusing dickhead and appalling dickhead was always thin with him, but good on Bill for clearing up any ambiguity.
Remember the story I told a few years back about when he bought some furniture from my parents' store? If not, he was in town with the wife that "accidentally" drowned ( :shifty: ) for a horse show. They were staying at the hotel next to my parents' store. He came in a bought a whole bunch of furniture. When coordinating with my dad about the shipping details, my dad said "maybe we could beam it to you." My dad immediately regretted saying this, as he was shot daggers by Shat and was worried he would cancel the order. I get it. You're tired of people referencing Star Trek. But how the hell are you able to afford your fancy horse shows and furniture? Lighten up, Francis.

TL:DR - Shat is a dick.

As I said on Twitter, somewhere there is a superior mirror universe where Nimoy is the one still alive.

Actors who bitch about being tied to characters they've played are ungrateful assholes. You've obviously created something meaningful to a lot of people—which, as an artist, should be kinda, you know, gratifying—and likely made you wealthy. Boo hoo, too bad you're not still sleeping on friends' couches and doing dinner theatre in New Bumwad, SD.

Let's talk about Patrick Stewart instead. Everybody knows Picard is the superior captain anyway.

(To be perfectly clear: I just wanted to bag on TNG because it's fun to do so. I have no agenda otherwise)

Is that a Voyager reference? Goddamn, what a terrible show that was.
