DS9's "The Visitor" is on. Just devastating, an intermingling of failure and success, and the virtue of sacrifice. I'm not sure any other ST series could have pulled it off.

Yeah, if a person doesn't have a goddamned softball in their throat watching this one, they're made of stone.

Fantastic ep. I love DS9.

It's the one where Sisko is zapped by some ray and seemingly dies, but actually gets suspended in some other dimension or some such, reappearing at random intervals. Meanwhile, Jake gets older and becomes a successful writer, but is plagued by the loss of a father who is also still sort of alive. So Jake gives up writing and studies quantum mechanics and figures out how to free his father, which means killing himself when Sisko is back in phase. At that point, everything resets. It's easily top 3 DS9 and just puts emotions thru a wringer.

I don't begrudge people who hate this—who rate it the worst episode of TOS—but I can't help but love it because of its batshit goofiness. Only a series that is flaming out anyway would film this script, but thank fuck for that.

Is anyone genuinely surprised by Shatner's recent rant? The line between amusing dickhead and appalling dickhead was always thin with him, but good on Bill for clearing up any ambiguity.

As I said on Twitter, somewhere there is a superior mirror universe where Nimoy is the one still alive.

Bluh. There was some talk at the time of Nimoy's death about how he had pretty much ended his friendship with Bill, and that Bill had no idea why. I'm pretty sure I could bet my savings on a reason.

It's pretty funny that fans would think that an actor would have any connection to the ideals of a character they played, though.
