I believe it's canon that Picard develops dementia shortly after retirement. I wonder if the show will focus on that.

That same disease he had in the series finale? I'd be stunned if they kept that. A Picard series is already an exercise in nostalgia, to some degree, so radically altering the character that people love would be a hard sell.
