The missuz just left for Thanksgiving supper at a friend of hers. I'm not joining her because said friend's husband is a dumbass conspiracy nut and an anti-Semite (I mentioned this a couple years back when they were here for a dinner party and he started going all Protocols of the Elders of Zion). B is there because it's her friend but I'm not under the same obligations. I told her that if my absence is inquired about to say that I'm at home giving thanks for Jewish contributions to the world.
Is Canadian Thanksgiving as big a thing as it is here in Trumpistan? You can tell the guy that I bestowed upon you an honorary membership in ZOG.
No, nothing like what you've got. It's still too far away from Christmas to tie it in to the insanity of shopping. Just a harvest festival that's morphed into October's stat holiday.

My sincere hope is to never encounter that asshole again. B and their mutual friends keep hoping that he'll eventually be kicked to the curb (he's long been known as douchebag to them).
Well, he sounds delightful!

He has some very interesting ideas about chemtrails and whether jet fuel can melt steel.

If you have a racist friend
Now is the time, now is the time for your friendship to end

Be it your sister
Be it your brother
Be it your cousin or your, uncle or your lover

If you have a racist friend
now is the time, now is the time for your friendship to end

Be it your best friend
Or any other
Is it your husband or your father or your mother?

Tell them to change their views
Or change their friends
Now is the time, now is the time, for your friendship to end

So if you know a racist who thinks he is your friend
Now is the time, now is the time for your friendship to end

Call yourself my friend?
Now is the time to make up your mind, don't try to pretend

Be it your sister
Be it your brother
Be it your cousin or your uncle or your lover

So if you are a racist
Our friendship has got to end
And if your friends are racists don't pretend to be my friend

So if you have a racist friend
Now is the time, now is the time for our friendship to end

Goodbye

:yuck: I grilled myself a burger, had some frozen yogurt, and now I'm sucking back a few glasses of Shiraz.

I like turkey but ground turkey is not a suitable substitute for ground beef.

I disagree that this is an example of being picky. I prefer the term discerning.

I don't think "ground turkey isn't nearly as good as ground beef" is a crazy stance.

Yeah I didn't think I was xourting controversy when i said it.

Background: my wife says i eat too much red meat. I like making meatballs so I thought I'd try some ground turkey instead. They not only looked kind of anemic they just didnt taste too good not nasty just pretty unexciting. Maybe I need to do something more to improve the flavor. Im open to suggestions.

I find the major problem with ground turkey is the same with boneless, skinless chicken: not enough fat, so it gets dry. You can reintegrate a little oil before cooking- it's still fat, but a lot of cooking oils are at least a little healthier than animal fat.

Even just using some olive oil spray or something can help on that front. I usually cook with turkey skinless chicken breast and such. Healthier.
