Just anything middle of the road. Not so bad that it elicits an emotional response (like, say, "Russians" by Sting) and not good. I'm probable generalizing here - but I always picture a bunch of frat boy d-bags playing beer pong in the parking lot while their brainless girlfriends wander around drinking Miller Lite and talking about how they can't wait to here Crash Into Me. I'm not defending the band, but I don't think a group with that kind of musicianship (at least on the first three albums) could be labelled "generic." I would reserve that tag for bands that just strum major chords against a simple 4/4 beat with lyrics about the beach or something.JennyB wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 2:52pmJust anything middle of the road. I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

The soil that it's built on is drenched with enough residual ecstacy to keep the residents persistently fucked up.

Also, writing about your awkward years is going to be so much fun. It'll be a shame when they finally end.
