A warning: if you are thinking of inviting relatives you've barely ever talked to in like twenty years stay over for the holidays, don't.
I tend to apply that to relatives in general. One evening is generally enough to exhaust interesting conversation and reinvigorate reminders of why I don't spend time with relatives.
Same rule for IMCTers?

Y'all are only half as bad as relatives, so two evenings.

Story?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

No story, really — it was just an immense hassle. I can get pretty mean when I completely run out of patience and I was careening towards this particular frontier with sleigh bells.

Follow up: not liking cheese is fucking madness, though.
I dont hate it but dont share the love of it to the extent that many seem to have. I get fucked up looks because I order the burger without the cheese.
I prefer cheese to meat.
I gave up meat for almost 2 years. I’ve never made it more than a month without cheese.
Im entirely opposite. For me to give up cheese it would just be no pizza for rhe most part. No meat though would be a stretch. My whole culinary repetoire is founded in meat and fish.

I've cut meat down to about one serving a week, for health, enviromental, and political reasons. I'm lucky enough to have a wife who can make a variety of delicious of vegetarian meals. Feel a lot better in myself for the reduction.

Now that meat is only once a week, you should make like a humungous deal about it, like Eagle, or Dolphin, or Rhinoceros, etc.

An observation:

The fact that Rodney Anonymous unabashedly loves Project Runway and live tweets the show is what is getting me through the day.
