Is time travel a valid theory?Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑06 Aug 2018, 12:47pmOffer me an alternate explanation to this mystery: My Chucks were at the front door, in front of our stairs heading to the second floor. All of a sudden I hear a series of thumps coming from upstairs or maybe the stairs. I go to look at one of my shoes is on the landing of the stairs, where it does a 90º turn. The only thing I can think of is that one of our cats, who is all of 8 pounds, hauled it up there. But that seems really unlikely. She's never done anything like that and I don't think she's strong enough. B suggested that she somehow got caught in the laces and was running up the stairs to get free. That also seems dubious, but I'm so at a loss to explain this that why not? Short of a poltergeist, any thoughts?

Tho they sound nothing alike, both GG and Norm Macdonald have such a skilled delivery that can make most anything sound funny. It really is something to marvel at.Silent Majority wrote: ↑07 Aug 2018, 9:57amMy favourite ever Gilbert Gottfried bit was a guest spot on We Hate Movies about the Twilight Zone and how stupidly they word their wishes. I won't discount it, but it seems a really lame demonstration of its viability.

An observation: Whenever I see an ad for this Gong Show revival, I'm acutely reminded of how much Mike Myers really fucking annoys me.

He's a comedian for kids and teens in the '90s. You grow out of him.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑09 Aug 2018, 1:44pmAn observation: Whenever I see an ad for this Gong Show revival, I'm acutely reminded of how much Mike Myers really fucking annoys me.

I like the Wayne's World films, Axe Murderer, and I liked the first Austin Powers the last time I saw it a few years ago. Very good timing, but he got increasingly smug.Kory wrote: ↑10 Aug 2018, 12:49pmHe's a comedian for kids and teens in the '90s. What stands out most (for me)about the Austin Powers movies was how stunningly attractive Beyonce was/is.Silent Majority wrote: ↑10 Aug 2018, 3:14pmI like the Wayne's World films, Axe Murderer, and I liked the first Austin Powers the last time I saw it a few years ago. No one will see this in the hockey thread, so I am posting it here — the Leafs new GM is GOAT:

New GM, early proponent of analytics etc. — basically, the blogging class's dream in a sport as backwards-thinking as hockey often is. Spent four years as Leafs AGM/the minor league team's GM before being promoted this summer. The minor league team won the AhL championship; he is pictured here holding the trophy with his grandmother in his hometown SSM.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑11 Aug 2018, 1:20pmI live in this country and I don't understand what's happening in any of that.
