Just wanted to let you all know I'm finally starting my run on DS9. Finishing the Orville inspired it, strangely enough.
Wait, you watch the Orville?
I did, but now I'm done. It's only 12 eps so far.
What's your take? I'm far from a McFarlane hater (even tho I see merit in the critiques against him) but the ads did not entice me at all.
I liked it quite a bit. Contrary to early fears, it doesn't try too hard to be funny, and actually has a lot of heart. The stories definitely come before jokes. It can be a little obvious in the social concerns it's addressing, but then most sci-fi is. It's a very obvious homage to Star Trek, but if you don't mind that it's not the most original idea in the world, it's very entertaining. I'm looking forward to S2.
Cool and thanks. If I come across it some evening, I'll give it a spin, but I doubt I'll hunt for it.

I will say it takes them a couple episodes to find their footing with timing as actors, but TNG took a couple seasons with that, so one can't really complain.

What's worse: TNG Seasons 1 & 2 or all of Enterprise or all of Voyager?

I like parts of Voyager, but I I think TNG 1 & 2 is still better because my friend and I made a drinking game out of them.

I go with TNG's first two seasons because it still contains elements of what it would become and that, yeah, much of it is so bad it does become entertaining in its own right. Enterprise and Voyager had their moments but their awfulness rarely achieved kitsch ludicrousness.

If Voyager had better characters it could have been more entertaining in its lesser moments, but I can't resist wanting to string up Neelix and Tom Paris all the time.

And Harry and Chakotay. The Doctor is the only truly appealing character, imo, Janeway, Tuvok, and 36 of D are good enough.

Not gonna lie: it’s very simple, but she’s drawn exactly like someone who was told that would look.

I am SUPER bored at work right now. Does anyone have anything for me to read? Bonus points if it's about, like, Wire or something.
