It's Bob Dole's chair! You know it, he knows it, the American people know it! Get out of Bob Dole's chair!
Haha, such a great skit. I want a SNL Best Of Norm Macdonald dvd... NOW.
No shit! If they have one for David Spade, they sure as hell need one for Norm.

I never EVER rooted for a team Rickey played for, but if Rickey isn't first ballot, I will boycott any voting sportswriter.

Wolter doesn't care what Dr. Medulla thinks, because Dr. Medulla is Canadian. Besides, Mimi knows Wolter loves her.
Man, the late 80's A's were SCARY good - Rickey H, Eckersley, Dave Henderson, the Roid...I mean Bash Bros.

I love how Rickey H played until he was 62. In fact, isn't he still playing?

I don't know if he's put himself on the retirement list. I think as recently as last spring he was with some independent league team. The cat obviously still loves the game.

That's what makes him so great, in the end. Well, that and his copious talent.

On May 18, 2007, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Oakland general manager Billy Beane was considering adding Henderson to the roster for one game in September, provided it did not "infringe on the integrity of the roster or of the season," so that Henderson could retire as an Oakland A's player.[42] A month later, Henderson appeared to reject the overture, saying, "One day? I don't want one day. I want to play again, man. I don't want nobody's spot... I just want to see if I deserve to be out there. If I don't, just get rid of me, release me. And if I belong, you don't have to pay me but the minimum — and I'll donate every penny of that to some charity. So, how's that hurtin' anybody?... Don't say goodbye for me... When I want that one day they want to give me so bad, I'll let you know.""[43]

Homer Simpson: What are you kids laughing at? And don't say Jimmy Fallon because I'll know you're lying.

A Jimmy Fallon best-of dvd would actually probably play rather well. It would be misleading tho, since he just had the good fortune to be in some good skits and they usually ended up being good despite his presence not because of it.

Addendum: I think the reason there isn't a Norm best of is 'cuz his leaving was very, very messy. As I understand it, they didn't even let him know he was fired until he showed up for work one day and NBC broke the news by having security escort him off the premises. Something like that, anyways.

It's a shame too, since a Norm best of would be amazing.

That wasn't all, Dave Stewart & Bob Welch were as good a 1-2 punch as anybody had then. And Storm Davis was good too.

It's amazing how LaRussa is a recognized "genius" when NOT winning with those kinds of teams would take some skill.

Yet he managed to lose the WS to two underdog Dodgers and Reds teams.

He related a version of the story on Letterman, I believe. It went something like this (and you have to do Norm's dryer than dry style in your mind). "Dick Ebersol says to me, 'I don't think you're funny.' And I thought, 'That's not good.' And then he says, 'You're fired.' And I thought, 'That's even worse!'"

Yea thats it except it was Don Ohlmeyer (sp?) who president of NBC at the time or something who didn't think he was funny. Later there were rumors it was because the guy was good friends with OJ Simpson whom Norm made fun of endlessly on SNL.
