I just realized I totally misread KP's original question. I would just use the word crap.JennyB wrote:I guess one way to describe yourself would be as an Anglophile.

"everythingness" ?
Re: Synonym help
I think this is the closest one so far, but I'm not sure if it would be clear what I meant if I said I liked English aggregation...if you had read that, would you assume that I meant everything I listed in my original post?eumaas wrote:aggregate maybe?

Re: Synonym help
I would say just "I am an Anglophile" or "I like a lot of aspects of English culture." It's probably as close to precise as you will get.

No, I probably wouldn't be sure. "All things English" would capture the sentiment better, I think.Kory Pox wrote:I think this is the closest one so far, but I'm not sure if it would be clear what I meant if I said I liked English aggregation...if you had read that, would you assume that I meant everything I listed in my original post?eumaas wrote:aggregate maybe?

To be honest, I would have had to look the word up. I would have probably thought you were talking about farming or something .Kory Pox wrote:I think this is the closest one so far, but I'm not sure if it would be clear what I meant if I said I liked English aggregation...if you had read that, would you assume that I meant everything I listed in my original post?eumaas wrote:aggregate maybe?

I work in property management, and all I could think of was the aggregate that makes up travertine floors.tepista wrote:To be honest, I would have had to look the word up. Re: Synonym help
Leave it to eumaas to suggest the word that people have to look up. Damn brainiac …

yeah, but at least i don't use high falutin synonyms for ordinary words.

Re: Synonym help
Anglophile is suitable, but I actually have to explain that term to some people (dummies).
England in its totality/entirety?
England and the sum of its parts?
You like England, comprehensively? Inclusively?
You're not thinking of 'minutia(e)', are you? As in, all of the tiny details that make up England?
