I just don't see the appeal he has, yes most girls I know swoon over him, but why, I never understood! And don't give me footballing ability, these girls I'm talking about, don't know/care much about that.

I have a West Ham ally here. He is a Radio Sport talk-back host and being a cockney is the only host that doesnt drool over the All Blacks. Very funny to listen to him winding up all the AB lovers and anti Pom brigade.

Spain deserved to win Euro 2008, Germany played like England in disguise...Enjoyed the whole competition, no more football for a month or so now unless you count the Olympics which I dont :(

btw, when England will return to participate to the official UEFA season?

Sad but true. Spain was clearly the best team of the tournament. They've been waiting so long for a title, they really deserve it. Congratulations to them. As for Germany, I thought we'd go out against Portugal already, so everything after that was a bonus. I just wish today's game had been better from our side.

I didn't expect a win today either. Can't blame it on Ballack's final curse or Lehmann's idiotic mistakes either, the better team won, pure and simple. I just don't know what happened to our form during the qualifying rounds. It's hilarious some people are already calling for Loew to resign!! How about that for arrogance!

Now that's all over (although I'm glad Spain won) we can start concentrating on the real thing, club football. The Euros were interesting enough to watch and filled in some close season time but international football as a whole leaves me cold. I read an article in one of the Sunday papers a couple of weeks ago that 80% of fans would rather see their club win a trophy than England win the World Cup. Got to agree on that one (although neither are likely), what's everyone else think?

See the signings have now started with Chelsea snapping up Deco for £8 million which I think is a snip. He will add something to their team that they haven't had. Cracking signing. Hopefully now they have stopped poncing about in Switzerland and Austria the transfer market which has been dead up to now will start to hot up.

It probably depends what team you support and what trophy it is. If you're a fan of anyone other than the Big Four, I would probably say the Premiership title or FA Cup for your club would shade England winning the World Cup. Saying that, I can't imagine there are many Man U fans who wouldn't swap yet another Prem title for a World Cup win. It all depends how success-starved your club is.
I still care a lot about the England team despite these dark days, I remember the effect Italia '90 and Euro '96 had on the country, imagine if we won something!

International Football leaves me cold until it comes to the crunch (not that we have had many of those lately). I will get up at 2 in the morning to watch Man Utd play Hartlepool in the 3rd round of the League Cup but I dont watch England play even in highlights shows. World Cup finals aside of course.
A few years ago I would have preferred a Premier League Trophy over a World Cup and until May I would have taken a Champions League win over a World Cup but now I would say World Cup.
I doubt Tosh or other Liverpool fans would agree and would take a Premier League Trophy and I expect Chelsea fans would take a Champions League trophy, Newcastle, Everton etc...

Also depends on which country you're talking of. (Sorry, couldn't resist one last Euro jab before the buzz wore off! ) It's always been World/Euro Cup for me, but it could also be that supporting your club 3000 miles away is a particular nuisance, with "home town club" not really meaning much.
