Might not look particularly interesting, but we have signed Jah Wobble's son!

I was at a friends place yesterday and they were watching "highlights" of I believe Sunday's Premier League matches. Certainly a better way to watch soccer. The funny thing though was when they showed the highlights of a 0-0 game.

Football is full of incidents like poor referee decisions, injuries, managers losing the plot etc. Sometimes the score can be secondary.

I'm not a big fan of changing the rules (laws in football) of sports unless there is a problem.
Looking at Van Basten's proposals just wondered what others thought?

Offside. Don't think it should be scrapped however I do think a few changes would make a big improvement in the 'modern' game as opposed to how the game was when the laws were made. I would make the offside line midway from the half way line to the goal line. That would stretch the teams and allow 25% more room on the pitch to play.
I would also scrap offside from free kicks (as per throw ins) which could speed up counter attack play and would also get rid of some of the wrestling that goes on along the offside line waiting for the free kick to come into the box.

Rolling subs. Some good and bad points to this. Major issue of players being used when not fit would be a problem. The more I think about it the less I like it from a tactical point of view.

Orange cards (sin bin), no. Not a fan of yellow cards in rugby as it gives the ref a cop out of giving a red card. If it is a red card offence send him off and if it isn't don't. Too many fouls is a yellow card not 10 minutes in a sin bin during which the players team shut up shop and waste time until he comes back on again (as per rugby).

Straight to penalties instead of extra time. Can see merit for midweek EFL cup or minor competitions but a World cup knock out game? No.

8 Seconds run up instead of penalties. Didn't they try that in US years ago? Obviously didn't work then.

4 quarters instead of 2 halves. Why?????

Limit on number of games a player can play. That is up to the club surely, as every player is different and no 2 games are the same.

The fact that Sunderland didn't sack him on the spot is an even bigger crime!!!!

Totally. No place for shit like that in modern society.

Even more embarrassing in the wake of the Adam Johnson debacle.

I hope everyone is rooting for South Shields in this Sunday's FA Vase. The place is gonna be like a ghost town, 12,000 heading down to Wembley apparently.
