The Kaleb Horton Deceased Latvian Foreign Minister Thread, 2024 Edition
Re: The Kaleb Horton Deceased Latvian Foreign Minister Thread, 2024 Edition
I thought that was Maury Chaykin from the photo. I guess he died 14 years ago. Oops.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

A belated fuck you to Joe Leiberman, VP candidate in 2000. I know him as the guy that thought the baby blue gun in Lethal Enforcers was a bad influence:
Oh yeah, he killed the public option in Obamacare too.

Even if it mistakenly identified me as a W. supporter, I'd wear a Sore Loserman shirt.

He's been in so much stuff, but I think i've only ever seen him in Jaws 3D.

First black winner for supporting actor. Hattie McDaniel was the very first, for Gone With the Wind. (Fun fact: Because of the rules of the restaurant where the ceremony was held, she had to sit in the corner by herself, far away from the other nominees.)

Meh, whatever.
Fuck. Such a funny, low-key guy. He didn't make the big leap to Hollywood like other SCTV alum, but he was their equal in every way.tepista wrote: ↑02 Apr 2024, 12:21pmJoe Flaherty, 82

He had his pros and cons, to say the least, but in retrospect he had a commitment to winning and belief that the red Sox should be able to consistently field a marquee team that I think the ownership group lost a bit when he left. Insofar as we credit ownership for any titles at all, he deserves a nod for ending the drought and really good stretch for the club. That doesn't negate some of his shittier tendencies, but I prefer him to RedBird Capital, anyways.

I'll give him credit in that Steinbrenner really seemed to dislike him.Flex wrote: ↑02 Apr 2024, 3:05pmHe had his pros and cons, to say the least, but in retrospect he had a commitment to winning and belief that the red Sox should be able to consistently field a marquee team that I think the ownership group lost a bit when he left.
