Snippet of conversation from our home (context omitted for humour and bafflement amplification):
Me to The Boss (accusingly): How many books about amputee stumps have *you* read?!
A Farewell to Arms?
Har-har, har-de-har-har.
Endut! Hoch Hech!

I feel that, had he lived, John Lennon would have loved Donkey Kong.

I’m eating my lunch watching a man with 1.5 arms make pizzas. What is impressive is that he is making the base and it is the bottom half of his arm that is missing!!
His food truck is called Stumpy’s.

Stumpy's Story

Stumpy was no ordinary boy.
Stumpy lived in Bavaria.
He would often stand in the fields south of his village dressed in his lederhosen & look longingly towards Italy. He loved the romance of Italy and Italian food.
And Stumpy loved fire.
As a little tyke his first wood fired oven failed. But this wee Bavarian lad was not one to be deterred by failure.
You see, Stumpy had lost half his left arm chopping firewood for the succession of ovens he built and perfected.
In his quest for the perfect pizza, Stumpy promised himself that nothing would come between him and taste bud nirvana.
Having travelled the world and finding New Zealand, he decided to put down roots and opened Stumpy’s Wood Fired Pizza on Dominion Road in Auckland.
He vowed he would move mountains, Alps even, to re-create the flavour of the classic, woodfired Italian Pizza for kiwis to enjoy.
The rest is history
