Haircuts in the time of Plague

Sweet action for kids 'n' cretins. Marjoram and capers.

You look like you'd be a touring replacement for the Lemonheads bassist (which is a compliment, I think).
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

It might be a compliment, I guess? I'm using a hair cream. Not for vanity but to keep it out of my face.

I think you played Blossom's boyfriend in a very special episode about drugs or bad touches.

Look, she may say bad touch now but I contend she said good touch then.

I'm a bit overdue for a haircut myself.

Does your hair only grow on top?

My hair is absolutely absurd, but one fun part of a receding hairline is it’s not in my eyes, and one part of becoming a cranky old man is I no longer care how it looks.

When the pandemic hit I was already long overdue for a cut, so I ordered a cordless hair trimmer. I’ve done maybe 5 haircuts since last April and it takes me about 45 minutes. Hardest part is the edge lines in the back, because everything’s backwards in the mirror. It helps to not give a shit. I am a couple months overdue though. I may eventually go back to my barber (a crusty old Vietnam vet) one more time and pay more attention to what he does. He was close to retirement though so I wouldn’t be surprised if he just said fuck it and retired in the last year.

I started cutting mine with a #3 clipper once the pandemic started. I'm no fashion maven, so I can't say it's good or bad, but it looks ok to me. I was using a really old Wahl clipper my grandfather had, but the blades were missing teeth and the motor was intermittent. Broke down and bought a cordless one, I've used it at least 6 times all on the first charge, even cut my 83 year old dad's hair a couple of weeks back.

I’ve embraced my inner Robin Guthrie this year.

I would do literally anything to my hair if I could find a singer as good as Fraser to work with.

I shaved my head on April 28 and haven’t cut it since. I’m going to at least leave it there until the same date to see what a year brings.

No, I use a little pomade to hold it back. If I put on a Habs hat I bet I could walk right into Quebec without question.
