Well, he's got a shit ton of money—he just sold his catalogue for $100M+—and it's not like Spotify royalties amount to much. Its only real value to artists is exposure and he doesn't need that. But pulling his songs does deprive the company of some revenue and perhaps might inspire other artists to do the same. It's a fine principle and all, but more practically it's just a gesture.

I agree. I don’t think they’ll do anything yet if it’s just Neil but it might be harder not to do something if more artists follow. I have a premium account and I only regularly listen to about 5-6 artists, so if one of those left, I absolutely would cancel to go to a different service. I’m sure a lot of subscribers would do the same.Sparky wrote: ↑25 Jan 2022, 12:12pmI was reading that Rogan program has 11 million listeners, so I agree, they'll side with Rogan, but if more artists took this position I could see it having an impact on Spotify.revbob wrote: ↑25 Jan 2022, 11:54amUnfortunately Spotify is likely to side with Joe Rogan over phony free speech concerns. He's willing to forgo some of his income in order to call attention to the lunacy that is Joe Rogan.

I had a train set—very, very modest—when I was a kid. I never had the required imagination or hobbyist inclination on that front for it to work for me. Still, whenever I see people's elaborate model train set ups and communities, it's hard not to be impressed.

I've tried to build a somewhat elaborate layout, but never completed it due to moving around so much as a young adult. Even a smallish N gauge layout is a challenge to move without damaging it.
