Not gonna lie: I wish I liked basketball, as it’s handily the least embarrassing of the major American sports.
I think you've got to go see it live from good seats. Having scoped out seats for Bulls games in the past I understand that this is a bit of a wallet buster in big cities.
I did actually do that once with an old boss. It was fun as hell, but it didn’t translate to enjoying it later.

It might’ve helped if that wasn’t right before Rose fell apart.

Derrick Rose is likely one of the biggest tragedies of the last ten years. He was a fantastic play who just kind of broke.

Yep. He was phenomenal in the game I watched. The Bulls lost to the Thunder, but Rose kept them in the game a while.

The blackballing of Kaepernick really did it for me.
That was the last straw. But years of ignoring brain injuries and papering over domestic violence charges were the first steps.
All good points and if I could put the Pack away I could easily stop caring about the NFL. I really don't watch any other games.
You should be getting psyched for the Bucks! You've got one of the best young players in the league.
...and a brand new arena! ;)

You've got to bring back the old MECCA floor full time though.

That thing is pretty sweet. I liked when they brought it back briefly last fall. MECCA is such a classic facility - it's like stepping back in time. It has a great 1950's feel to it and it's been well cared for. The Bradley Center - in comparison - is a really sad facility. Lots of cinder block. It was never an attractive arena and while they tried to enhance it over the years - it just always felt worn and cheap - like a food court at a dying mall.

I have not been in the new arena - yet - but everyone who has been there says it is pretty awesome. I'll admit I wasn't a fan of how the deal was pushed through - kind of hard supporting a deal like that while our schools and roads and so much else are going to you-know-what...

Is there already a NFL 2018 thread? I didn't see one...but wanted a chance to crow about the Green & Gold after last night's game! Wow. Just wow. I'm 41 and growing up in Wisconsin they pretty much send you home from the hospital as a baby wearing Packer gear and I can't remember a game (and I'm sure I've killed enough brain cells over the years to forget some other great ones) quite so thrilling and fulfilling! I almost went to bed at halftime - it was late - I was tired - Aaron Rodgers was hurt and Chicago was up 17 - 0. Very glad I decided to stick with it and yeah - it took me about 2 hours to calm down enough before I could sleep!
I watched that game last night (doing my homework before I go to see it live) it was great. Apart from the clock at the end it was easy to follow.

One question, is the QB the only person allowed to pass the ball?

They can run trick plays where another player throws it.

Anyone who lines up behind the line of scrimmage can make a forward pass as long as they're still behind the line when they throw it. So, for example, the QB could hand off to a running back who then throws a pass. But any play where someone other than the QB makes a pass is pretty much a trick play.

Thanks, but is there only one pass allowed per play?

Correct. There is only one forward pass allowed but one can lateral the ball to a another guy behind him.
