More seriously, I do have a lot more food spoilage down here (even with air conditioning), and the threat of mold is ever-present.
Super true. We learned to buy fruit and veggies in small quantities because of spoilage.
Just had to throw away some stuff that was supposed to be good until October.

Going back: we have to go to the store at least twice a week or our veggies will never make it all the way.

If there was only some way we could change the genetic structure of vegetables to make them last longer...modify them, if you will...

But clearly that would be as bad as vaccinating our children or not using crystals.

Me neither.

I'm no expert, but the only thing I can tell that's bad about GMOs is big ag's shady/aggressive business practices involving them.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, it’s not really anything to do with health. It’s just attempts to trademark a gene sequence.
