Nah, it's real. I just think he had a "big heed" as we say up here.

It turns out I have an under active thyroid. I’m taking doctor approved dope and have dropped 10lbs in 4 weeks.

Re: Middle age health thread for fatties
It's funny, I was eating better, drinking less, and exercising more and lost no weight (I started about 35lbs heavier that where I ought to be). I hadn't had a physical in 15 years so I finally went in. The blood test showed that my stupid thyroid was under active and therefore my metabolism was slow. I take this tiny pill when I wake up in the morning (levothyroxine) and that fills in the gap. I have long been reluctant to use drugs that I don't buy in a fake taxi cab from a guy named Tito but I think this was a good move. My blood pressure was a little high too so he had me get a home blood pressure kit to monitor it. As my weight has decreased, my blood pressure has dropped to a healthier level.Mimi wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 7:38amThat's a lot. Glad you got it worked out though. Glad to hear you found something. Did they have any reason why your thyroid isn't thyroiding as much as it should?BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 11:09amIt's funny, I was eating better, drinking less, and exercising more and lost no weight (I started about 35lbs heavier that where I ought to be). 7-10% of adults over 40 get Hypothyroidism (underproduction of hormones). I am not really sure about the why part aside for the slow creep towards death we all go through.revbob wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 12:14pmGlad to hear you found something. Sounds good. I'm also reluctant to take meds, even ones sold in a back alley.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑14 Aug 2019, 11:09amIt's funny, I was eating better, drinking less, and exercising more and lost no weight (I started about 35lbs heavier that where I ought to be). Speaking of old and painkillers I polled the ol' groin muscle tonight running out a grounder.
