A win against the highest ranked African country in the tournament is something I'm quite happy with. Low expectations this time around for England, let's see if they can quietly progress and hopefully gel a bit more. Some very promising signs in the first half tonight, and we look pretty handy at set pieces.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Loftus Cheek made a massive difference when he came on I thought. Would have him in from the start for next game.

Agreed. We did well in 86 and 90 when injuries forced our hand and we found the in-form players.

Should have been 3 up at HT and thought they had blown it in second half. In years gone by that would have been a draw!!
Drop Sterling for Rashford.
I also thought Loftus-Cheek looked good aka David Platt 1990 like Heston said.

Who would have thought Gareth Southgate was reading IMCT?

"Southgate had already hinted Raheem Sterling, who was replaced by the Manchester United forward after 68 minutes in Volgograd, may make way for Rashford in Sunday's starting line-up.
England would be expected to beat Panama, beaten 3-0 by the Belgians earlier on Monday, and it could also mean a start for Ruben Loftus-Cheek in place of thigh-injury victim Dele Alli as the Belgium game that could decide who tops the group is just four days later".

I'm loving the drama and high farce of these VAR decisions!

What VAR decisions? It's just another name given to cover up human error. Some you win fairly and some you don't it's all as simple as that.
