I had a solitary pint of lager and regret even that much, to be honest.

"Work"? Further exegesis is indicated as regards this term, thanks.

Irish if you go back far enough, same with being drunk except you wouldn't have to go back too far. My feeling on U2 are a matter of public record as is my drunkenness.

'twasn't your view on U2's latest what caused the raised eyebrow, but your misreading two separate posts at the same time. This could be construed as A) drunkenness; or B) an Irishman's innate ability two hold conflicting ideas as sacrosanct.

And anyway, you love U2's first three albums and singles, as all decent folk do. So shutups and go spin all three minutes of "A Celebration", mate. ;)

I dont think that term has ever been applied to me particularly in this situation. Asking me to go listen to U2 is like asking me to listen to Morrissey, neither is going to happen without a fight.

No, it would have kicked in before now. I've just been cutting way, way back lately and now I don't have the urge to booze it up and don't enjoy it too much when I do. Maybe I've just had my fill. Won't stop completely - it's the only way the Brits are able to socialise. And I'll join my wife for wine or whatever when we go out.
