Sportsball

Post by muppet hi fi »

As a chap who played much sportsball in his misbegotten youth (football [American stylee], baseball, basketball), and indeed still throws the odd orb about with his brothers and mates when the weather is clement, I find this term quite endearing and apropos. And the waitresses down my local, who make much money on meatheads such as me watching the "the big {sportsball} game", all find it an amusing, valuable and versatile term as well. What they don't know is that I couldn't give a flying fuck about any of it (though I do like some mild hoops in summer cuz I just plain enjoy the activity).

So here's to all the long suffering, well meaning, non-sport fanatics who have given us this great post-post- modern phrase: Sportsball.

I never thought I’d watch anything worse than soccer and then I found out about curling.

Concur. Restraining orders should be issued against people who use it.

Hmm? Do explain, it sounds interesting (and as everybody knows, hockey is a sissy sport. Hell, it doesn't even involve a ball!).
