Re: Just Had Breakfast
He’s staying at same Hotel in Sydney where he and his band are doing 3 nights at Opera House. I knew he was staying there because Steve Craddock and the rest of the band were in the hotel bar last night.
Walked in to breakfast buffet this morning straight in to him.
Just the two of us stood there so I said “alright Paul” and stuck my hand out
Had a long chat about the show and the last time I saw him in 1980 in Bracknell he thought that was funny as we stood in a five star hotel in Circular Quay Sydney.
Top bloke, plenty of time for a chat and laugh at my attempts to take a selfie!!
Sat at next table with his crew and band and gave me a wave on way out.

I’m jealous...but man...great luck running into him and well played having done so. Weller has always come across as a good dude (American version of top bloke)!101Walterton wrote: ↑28 Jan 2018, 8:02pmHe’s staying at same Hotel in Sydney where he and his band are doing 3 nights at Opera House. Re: Just Had Breakfast
Managed to fit in a few comedy gold moments.
He asked me if I went to the gig last night but ai said no Friday but he didn’t play Friday I got confused thinking it was Sunday morning.
Then I made my first attempt at a selfie but all I could see was the buffet and he was like “mate you got to press that button’

Re: Just Had Breakfast
I’m impressed! I haven’t had many chances to meet my heroes in Milwaukee. Best I had was seeing The Seahorses (or is it just Seahorses - I forget) in some small club. The singer had a song or 2 where it was just him on stage and I suddenly found myself standing right next to John Squire and realizing it was a once in a lifetime deal (and having had a few beers) I said hello. He was very cool. I didn’t know what to exactly say to him, but I babbled something about how I thought his recent playing sounded a lot like Jimmy Page and he laughed. Honestly, I think he was just amazed that some Wisconsin kid knew who he was...but that said...super nice guy.

You should’ve asked him when he was getting the Jam back together. He loves that.
