Feeling Like A Winner

Post by 101Walterton »

On Christmas Eve 50.5W got a parking ticket $65!!!
The car park is controlled by private company and is in a very busy area where there are very few options to park. You can imagine how crazy Xmas Eve at 1.10pm was.
Anyway 50.5W tried to pay for pay and display ticket but machine not working. No option to park elsewhere so she left car for about30 mins and came back to find ticket.
MrsW disputed fairness of ticket on their website but we got the ‘you broke our rules you pay’ response.
I wasn’t having that!!!
I ripped apart their email and then made a formal request for disclosure of their phone logs for that afternoon, full disclosure of their fault machine logs (I presumed they had one) as well as the maintenance job sheets from the repairers.
I got an immediate response advising that the ticket was correctly issued however in the circumstances they had made a decision to waive the ticket!!!
Wankers.

Wankers indeed. Good for you - it’s a good feeling when you know you’ve got right on your side.

I had a long-running battle with a supermarket chain about the salt content of their vegetarian sausages - it started as a jokey comment on their website and escalated. I hate it when companies treat us like imbeciles.

Congrats on your result 101w - you can't beat a bit of tenacity, literacy and a burning sense of being wronged to hit them where it hurts.
