I took a peak at Fat Bart's grey ink Hall of Fame chances, but, nope, he's nowhere close. He's a couple points behind Dave Stieb!

can you explain this to me in simple terms, or is it a calculus question
eh, i think i get it, a cumulative score based on stats, compare active players to guys who are already in. take out outliers like koufax who had short careers. score would benefit guys who had really long careers though, like bart, or someone like craig biggio, who i always thought was very good, but he just played for so damn long.

I sometimes wish there was a special hall for beloved players that just weren’t that great. Be a nice home for the oddities and hometown heroes of the game.

I just realized that Bart is not only the last active Montreal Expos player...but has been for 4+ years running. That's like being the last non-breeding specimen of white rhino left in captivity. :scared:

Yeah, it's a counting stats formula, which benefits guys who were good enough to stay in the game a long time. Guys with short careers needed to be insanely good during their limited time (like Koufax) to rack up comparable numbers.

Yankees Fans Pack Stadium For Asshole Heritage Night
NEW YORK—Selling out the entire venue and filling the standing room to capacity, thousands of fans flocked to Yankee Stadium Friday to proudly celebrate asshole heritage night. “Today, we honor the contributions and history of the many jackasses who have played for the New York Yankees as well as the pricks who cheered them on,” said legendary motherfucker Alex Rodriguez, adding that no team, not even the Boston Red Sox, could match the Yankees’ 115-year tradition of embracing and fielding total fucking bastards. “Assholes have made such a huge contribution to this franchise, from the miserable fucks who founded this team to the shitheads who currently own it. And, of course, without the millions of fuckwad fans and their asshole children, the Yankees would not be the organization they are today.” In honor of asshole heritage, Yankees merchandise stands were offering special discounts on dickhead hats and douchebag T-shirts.

It's been almost 2 decades since he hasn't been lustily booed on the Stadium jumbotron. New Yorkers were already sick of his shit a year or two before 9/11.

Weirder still given that he's talking about race. Dan Shaughnessy: Not an absolutely awful prick.

Gibby had a good day with replay challenges, so there is that.

I'm coming around to this Reddit poster's point of view:
Yes, let's rush someone with a massive amount of potential to a team where the catcher plays 3rd, SS and outfield all in the same week.

Fucking fantastic idea.
With injuries and seemingly every other aspect of the team tanking in May, I'm not sure this is the environment you want to bring your stud superstar prospect into. Let him rake in AA — if the Jays are somehow competing for a WC spot in July, that's when I think you might get serious about VLADTIME.
