I'd take a chance on Cueto in a trade. Not on an opt-out though, that would be too expensive.WestwayKid wrote: ↑19 Oct 2018, 1:41pmLook at the bucks they dumped on Posey, Cueto, and Samardzija this season. Cueto and Samardzija hardly pitched and Posey was up and down with injuries before being shut down for good in August.
...and yes...they paid Cain $7,500,000 in dead salary this year!

Luckily they've got Panda for next to nothing.WestwayKid wrote: ↑19 Oct 2018, 1:41pmLook at the bucks they dumped on Posey, Cueto, and Samardzija this season. Cueto and Samardzija hardly pitched and Posey was up and down with injuries before being shut down for good in August.

Speaking of the Giants, here's what they're doing with the money they saved by trading Andrew McCutcheon

Ugh. I’m a bit tipsy and living and dying on every pitch. This is huge for Milwaukee if we can take it to G7. Milwaukee has a lot of very passionate baseball fans. Myself included. I’ve dearly loved this club since I was a kid. We’re the smallest market in baseball. We don’t make the post season that often. This means a lot. Just to get to Game 7 - give this city a chance to avenge 1959 (look it up). Did I mention I’ve been drinking?

Me too. That's incidental though.
Good game, I watched with a Dodger fan.

Ideally, it'll be 10-0 Brewer after the first inning, and the rest of the game is spent going after Machado.

I guess I’d like the Brew crew. It’s tough to pull for either team since I’ll be wishing the winner ill seconds after the game is decided.

I always used to be a hardcore AL fan when it came to the WS and all star game. But its pretty impossible for me to root for the Sox, Houston or Cleveland (unless they want to drop the racist shit). I could go for pretty much any other AL team. That said there's only a few NL teams I can feel good siding with, Nats/Expos, Cubs, Brewers, Pirates, Rockies.

Re: MLB 2018
I used to be solidly NL in the WS (assuming the Sox weren't in it) because it otherwise meant cheering for one of Boston's AL rivals. But I'm a lot less dogmatic about that now, instead going by the more touchy-feely quality of likeability. That's one thing this year's model of Red Sox has over previous WS contenders—they've got a lot of really likeable players that run counter to the asshole fanbase. The Yankees are in the same situation, too, especially once they let Gardner go away. I mean, honestly, Betts and Judge are really easy to cheer for, even if you hate their team.revbob wrote: ↑20 Oct 2018, 11:17amI always used to be a hardcore AL fan when it came to the WS and all star game.
