If anyone else subscribes to The Athletic, John Lott has a fascinating three-parter on catching —the first two instalments, an interview with Russ Martin and a fly-on-the-wall thing as Martin and Luke Maile talk shop are really really interesting.

Othani is 2-23 at the plate, but it's OK because he's given up 15 ernies in 8.1 innings. WS here we come.

You should bring David Eckstein out of retirement. He'd add needed scrappiness to your crappiness.

It's all part of Fat Mike's grand scheme to literally freebase on double-switches. National League ball here we come!!!

The Rangers signed Matt Bush and he killed a guy while driving drunk. Athletic skill will always trump loathsome character.

Yeah but a lot of people will still forgive a drunk driver, more people out there can identify with driving drunk (I'm not condoning it) than beating a woman. But yeah you're right.

And bear-baiting? We used to do that. How come the snowflakes won't let us torture bears to death? Change is bad.
