Oh man. There are times when the write-ups (usually done by my wife, btw) remind me of the Simpsons’ one where Marge says “and Bart...we love Bart.”

That's from the first-aired episode, as I recall. So tame by today's standards.

Maybe, I don't think I've ever gotten one from my friends outside of America, then can be most awful things in the world, personalized holiday cards that people put on their refrigerators, the only thing worse is some people like to give you year end recaps of their lives, maybe this was a before facebook thing but I remember them.

Yep that is thing, generic letters with a year summary!!!
If you have to tell me everything you have done in last 12 months why are you even sending me a card.

I can't stand the generic summary letter. My father & stepmother do the generic letter, usually in rhyming couplets.

I forgot - it's also written from the perspective of their dog.
