I don't think I'm art-smart enough to not like any of those guys.

For some reason, one of the two main Dali museums in the world is in the shitty part of Florida (which is 99% of Florida) where my aunt and uncle live. It's a nice visit, so I'm cool with Dali. Plus he partially inspired the best Pixies song.
Oh, here's a photo of me outside of said museum:

No thumbs up though. I went there years ago while in the shitty part of Florida.

I grew up in that shitty part of Florida just across the bay and the old Dali museum was a regular stop for me, loved it. The new building really does the collection justice.
They are in St. Pete. You?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

No reason it can't, but I still want to talk about hating Matisse with somebody...

I just did an image search on Matisse. Yeah, yuck. Not impressed. That's all I got.

I hate how he outlines everything. He should have been an illustrator, except that he's also a shitty at drawing, I'm sure.

A lot of artists that paint shittily are actually pretty good when you get down to raw ability, but they just stick with their "style." I'm not sure what Matisse's actual skill level is—I'd have to see his student work, but I've never been interested enough to find out.

His stuff always reminds me of bad textile design for a five year old.

It's true, we do sound like the "my 8-year-old could do that" brigade, but I like Pollock, who is arguably even less talented.

I didn't like Pollock until I saw one in person. Jesus that was an experience.
