Thank Christ Joe wasn't a Spurs fan, the first Mescaleros album would have had a song called Paul Gascoigne.

Each time he listens to it or somebody mentions it to him, I like to think of Tony Adams saying to himself, 'how the fuck is that a song about me?"
As for supporting, I suspect Paul was the real Chelsea fan and, Joe being Joe, he came up with a few fibs later on about his hardcore days watching them play from the Shed end.

Didn't Paul once call the crowd, "the audience?"

That is also why I suspect Joe wasn't really into football as much as claimed.
Remember Purple Hayes funny story about Joe in the shed?

When I saw the Meskies in 2000 Joe did a long intro to Tony Adams and was actually talking about Tony Adams. Can't remember what he said it didn't make much sense other than the fact Adams was a lunatic (alcoholic to be more accurate).
