I missed the chance to have pizza, crickets and IPA with Kory last year because I largely don't pay attention to where everyone lives and didn't find out until after I'd returned from Seattle.
I'm hoping to meetup with BBE in a few weeks when I take Manhattan.
I mainly go places where IMCT people don't live.
Where do you call home Mimi ?

C'mon, the time we chatted on the phone, you showed no evidence of not being able to hold up your side of a conversation. If we're more or less dorks, we're all dorks of a feather.Mimi wrote:I envy you all that can do this. While I'd love to meet all of you, I'd be terrified of coming out and asking to meet up. What else is there to talk about in real life? Honestly, and I suspect most will concur here, there's an ease of conversation with people here that doesn't exist with regular folk. For what it's worth, you're high on my list of IMCTers I'd love to hang out with.Mimi wrote:But we were talking about book/computer stuff.Dr. Medulla wrote:C'mon, the time we chatted on the phone, you showed no evidence of not being able to hold up your side of a conversation. The two times I hung out with Flex we mainly talked about baseball (sports), music, beer and a smattering of politics. Basically more or less what we talk about on here. I'd be at a loss to talk literature with anyone though just not my bag.

Yeah, with the few folks I've met IRL it's been board gossip and the same dumb shit we talk about here. And fighting off lusty advances (don't deny it, Jon, you minx).revbob wrote:Plus there's always alcohol and/or drugs.Dr. Medulla wrote:C'mon, the time we chatted on the phone, you showed no evidence of not being able to hold up your side of a conversation. I'm a fairly awkward guy, so meet ups with me that don't involve enough booze to make me schloppy tend to have long pauses.

Well if you're interested I'll meetup for long award pauses followed by lots of drinks. Don't know when that might be though. But it's coming...Wolter wrote:I'm a fairly awkward guy, so meet ups with me that don't involve enough booze to make me schloppy tend to have long pauses.

I'd love to hang out with Meemz! We can talk about all of the yucky boys on here.
I've only ever met Tep and Kaleb in person, and we were all properly shammerd. But Tep is the type of person who seems like he'd get along with anyone and is super easygoing.

I think that's pretty much everyone here.Wolter wrote:I'm a fairly awkward guy, so meet ups with me that don't involve enough booze to make me schloppy tend to have long pauses.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Boys have kooties.
I've often thought that about Tep, too.

I'm hoping to visit the UK in the next couple years.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .
