Yep I've heard of them and I think they are a great young mod punk pop band. They've supported The Specials and Paul Weller.101Walterton wrote:Heston wrote:Never heard them mate.101Walterton wrote:Have you heard of The Spitfires? Are they any good?

Cheers Marky. I've heard a few bits and pieces before but not sure I've heard those. There name has come up a few times lately so I presume they are an up and coming band? Great name to go with the look.

It's a good name, but if there already hasn't been about 400 bands called the Spitfires I'll eat my hat.101Walterton wrote:Cheers Marky. Their debut album was released in August and they formed in 2012.101Walterton wrote:Cheers Marky. I've heard a few bits and pieces before but not sure I've heard those. There name has come up a few times lately so I presume they are an up and coming band? Great name to go with the look.

Haha, I thought you were just blowing Maj off. I'd have respected that.101Walterton wrote:Sorry SM missed this post, look forward to hearing a review??
I was just looking at concerts in London while I was there and saw the blurb about the Spitfires opening for Weller and the Specials (my non-Maj buddy I'm travelling over with is a huge Jam/Weller fan) and got totally enamored with the band after watching a few of their videos. I'm anticipating a great show. We'll definitely do a full report back to the board.

I've heard a lot of chat from people who have seen them and they rave about them. They have that early Jam feel about them especially with the cult following and they certainly have that look nailed, I love the Fred Perrys.Flex wrote:Haha, I thought you were just blowing Maj off. If I could get you elected Pope, would you go along with it?
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .
