We did "The Way You Look Tonight" Sinatra. Boring, I know. But what, was I gonna have WMHP as my first dance?

I considered Boogie With Your Children, but plumped for La Dolce Vita by Ryan Paris.

We didn't have one. Our wedding was unorthodox. We told friends and family it was just a party to celebrate us being together for ten years, then sprung a wedding on them. Simple ceremony followed by food.

See, this is why you are, and always will be, infinitely cooler than I could ever dream of being.

ours was delroy wilson's "i'm in a dancing mood." and, for the record, simply being in a dancing mood does not enable me to actually dance...

Kind of similar to what we did. No "song" which my wife sometimes laments.

Me and Keith Moon's song ended up being "I Need You" by the Kinks. He really wanted a Beach Boys song but I refused.

Mine was So Long It's Been Good To Know Ya (WWII version, mind) by Woody Guthrie.

Although this was a dream.

Only I could have a fictitious wedding to the sound of a Woody Guthrie war song.

Silly Games by Janet Kay which just about summed up our marriage, hate my ex but still love the song..

Also remember the first song I danced to with a real live girl which was Hurt So Good by Susan Cadogan way back in '75, I was 13 and was starting to realise that although Girls were shit at football they could have their uses, I still remember her name, address and phone number, first love I suppose  ....Just listened to it on utube and it still sounds great http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=afDK001mi4s...

I plan on having the DJ play "Police on my Back" at some point during the reception of my "not anytime soon" wedding.

And Tep does win.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Also for the cut-the-cake song, we had "Sweet and Dandy" by Toots, because even though I can't decipher most of the lyrics, I know he says something about a wedding cake and a bottle of cola wine. My wedding was fun as fuck, I brought the DJ from the bar I hang out at and aside from a few instructions, I just told him to play what he would if we were at the bar.

When/if I ever get married, can I hire you to be my wedding planner?
